Default McCoy vaule

I just heard where the Judge backed up the NFL and both Williams for MN and McAlester, W. Smith, and C. Grant for the Saints will be suspended for 4 weeks.

Is Bobbie McCray the guy to reap a starting job from this decission? Or is there another NO DE who could get moved up?

i ment McCray in the title, not McCoy.

Short answer: yes!

Longer answer: Bear in mind that even a 4 game suspension is still a short amount of time, especially in dynasty. People who bailed on Steve Smith last year were getting killed by him by week 3. But there are other concerns which make Bobby McCray a very sound investment.

Charles Grant has much deeper off-field problems than StarCaps. He still has an involuntary manslaughter charge hanging over his head after a pregnant woman was shot and killed in still murky circumstances at a nightclub. He also hasn't ever really recovered from the ankle ligament he tore in 2007. He also turns 31 just before the beginning of the season. Even without the suspension, I think Grant is pretty much done for fantasy purposes.

McCray performed well enough in relief last year that he's a known quantity. He still has some work to do to completely push Grant to the bench, but I predict this will happen sooner rather than later.

Actually, the players in Minn are almost garunteed to not be suspended. The federal judge upheld the suspension in federal court on the appeal, but it will go back to state court on everything that was not part of the appeal.

In Minn, it is illegal for an employer to take action against an employee upon the first positive drug test. The empoyer can take action against an emplyee upon their second. The Minn law would be secondary to the CBA, if the CBA stated the actual Minn law in it and that the CBA replaced it. However, the CBA does not specifically state the Minn law and that the players are waiving the right for the lesser protection of the CBA. Therefore, now that it's back in state court, the state law is on the players side in that this was their first failed drug test.

I have no idea if that same law is on the books in the New Orleans area.
